Protein distribution matters more than you think
๐ฅฉ Getting enough protein matters, but when you eat it matters too. Many people eat very little protein earlier in the day and then load most of it at dinner. Your body does not use protein that way.
๐งช Muscle protein synthesis has a ceiling at each meal. That means your body can only use a certain amount of protein at one time to repair and build tissue. Anything far above that is more likely to be used for energy rather than rebuilding muscle.
Spreading protein more evenly across the day supports muscle maintenance, blood sugar stability, and appetite control. This becomes increasingly important with age and during hormonal transitions.
๐ง Tip: Aim for a protein source at every meal. Even a moderate amount at breakfast and lunch can make a noticeable difference in energy and satiety.
At Vagal, we help you match nutrition timing to how your body actually works.
