Why fiber matters for everyone
🥦 Fiber is one of the most underrated nutrients for overall health—no matter your age or hormonal stage. It supports digestion, improves gut health, helps regulate blood sugar, and even plays a role in hormone metabolism and weight management.
🧪 Research shows that fiber helps reduce inflammation, support balanced blood sugar, and aid in the elimination of excess hormones through the digestive tract. There are two types of fiber, and both are essential:
-Soluble fiber dissolves in water and helps slow digestion. It’s great for blood sugar control and heart health (found in foods like chia seeds, flaxseeds, and apples).
-Insoluble fiber doesn’t dissolve in water and adds bulk to stool, promoting regularity and gut motility (found in foods like leafy greens, beans, and whole grains).
🔧 Tip: Aim for at least 25–30 grams of fiber daily from a variety of whole foods. Include beans, lentils, berries, chia seeds, leafy greens, and flaxseeds to get both soluble and insoluble fiber in your meals.
At Vagal, we create personalized nutrition plans that emphasize fiber-rich foods to support gut health, blood sugar stability, and long-term well-being for everyone—regardless of age or hormonal phase.
